PRIVACY POLICIES

GDPR asks any visitors to my site, whether browsing, interacting or purchasing, be informed how any of their personal information is stored or used:

I am committed to protecting and respecting your privacy, in accordance with BACP and my training body: Metanoia Institute.

This policy explains why I collect personal information, how I use it, the conditions under which I may disclose it to others and the choices you have.

Kitchen Table Therapy is the name of my therapy practice. I am Maite Isabel Burt, a psychotherapeutic counsellor, providing therapy and counselling to clients in the UK, a sole trader and not connected with any other companies which may have a similar name.

I obtain basic information about you when you contact me to enquire about my services. I explain in brief the nature of our working contract should you decide to take the 15 minute intro session.

Only should we decide to commence therapy with one another, a mutually binding contract is then entered into, which is given and discussed during our initial session together. This contract outlines my terms and conditions and informs you as to my confidentiality policy and what information is stored about you.

I collect contact information - name, phone, email - to allow me to fulfil my obligations to you and to respond to your enquiry.

Psychotherapists and Counsellors regularly present their work in clinical supervision. The aim of this is to monitor and improve the clinical work undertaken. All supervision is done on a confidential basis, with the supervisor bound by the same policy rules of their accrediting body. and only using the client’s first name. For this purpose, I keep notes of our sessions, which are held safely and securely (password protected) on my personal computer or locked securely if paper notes for up to five years and filed under your first name or initials only. This is to offer consistency of care in the event of clients returning to therapy after taking a break. Any identifying information which may be needed for your safety in our work is stored seperately in accordance with BACP and Metanoia policies. I do not retain sensitive personal data online. I request that you provide only the minimum information required in order for me to respond to your enquiry.

Please note my services are not directed to children under 18. If you learn that a child under 18 has provided me with personal information without consent, please contact me.
